- Measure interior, not marketing
Cubic-foot claims include the rails. Measure the usable drawer interior (length × width × depth) before deciding what fits.
- Match access to who uses it
Drawers favor daily access; lift-up favors seasonal storage. Pick the format that matches who lifts the mattress most often.
- Confirm clearance around the bed
Drawer frames need at least the drawer's depth in pull-out clearance on the open side. Lift-up frames need swing-room at the foot.
- Check the slat system
Storage platforms vary — solid wood slats spaced 2.5–3″ apart support most mattresses without a box spring.
